What we do

We have been extracting and processing iron ore in Sarzedo since 1958. Around 6.5 million tonnes a year, with an expansion under way to 10 million, always guided by the same principle: producing with quality, safety and respect for those who live around us.

Quality ore for a range of industrial applications.

Pellet Feed

Pellet Feed

Produced by high-field magnetic concentration, it has an iron content between 62% and 64% and a particle size of 0mm to 3mm. It supplies pelletizing and sintering plants in the export market as an input for the steel industry.
Sinter Feed Concentrate

Concentrated Sinter Feed

The result of medium-field magnetic concentration, it has an iron content between 56% and 58% and a particle size of 0mm to 13mm. It goes into blends that supply steelmakers in the export market.
Hematitinha

Hematitinha

Obtained by crushing and screening, it has a particle size of 13mm to 19mm and an iron content between 56% and 58%. It serves the domestic market, supplying steelmakers focused on pig iron production.

Dam management

The safety of our structures is monitored continuously and audited. The PAEBM, part of the Dam Safety Plan, is filed with the city governments and Civil Defense agencies and defines the immediate actions in case of an emergency. Here you can access the monitoring data and the progress reports on the works.

The most downstream structure in the complex, next to the Engenho Seco stream. It holds the sediment from the access roads and the operating area and carries out the final clarification of effluents, recirculating the site's industrial water.

It used to receive the tailings from the Engenho Seco mines and is now undergoing decharacterization works. Its embankment is conventional fill, with compacted clayey-silty soils and a complete internal drainage system.
