On May 20, 2023, Itaminas held an External Emergency Drill with the Sarzedo community.
As a way of evaluating the performance of the Dam Emergency Action Plan (PAEBM), and in compliance with dam safety legislation, Itaminas held a Dam Emergency Drill on May 20, aimed at training residents so that everyone knows how to proceed in case of emergencies.
Itaminas’s dams pose no risk to society, but carrying out these actions is very important. It is essential that everyone know the siren signals, the escape routes, and the meeting points in order to build a culture of safety.
The simulated drills test situations such as the audible alert system and the time it takes for people to move to the meeting point.
Itaminas plans to activate the sirens as early as emergency level 2, giving advance warning so that residents can leave their homes until the risks no longer exist.
