On Tree Day, Itaminas and Inhotim joined forces to celebrate the importance of this crucial day for our planet with the “Ser do Cerrado” program
An exhibition of informational totems was unveiled, outlining the “Ser do Cerrado” program, a key project aimed at preserving Brazil’s second-largest biome. Employees had the opportunity to learn more about the program and about this vital ecosystem.
The totems displayed valuable information about the Cerrado’s biodiversity, highlighting its crucial role in ecological balance and environmental sustainability. The Cerrado is a natural treasure, home to a vast range of plant and animal species, many of which are found only in this biome. Cerrado trees play a crucial role in maintaining the water cycle and protecting the soil, preventing erosion and contributing to soil fertility.
In addition to raising awareness about the importance of the Cerrado, the celebration included a fruit-tree planting initiative. Seedlings of trees typical of the Cerrado were handed out, giving employees the chance to contribute directly to increasing vegetation cover and preserving this highly relevant biome.
Planting trees is a fundamental action on Tree Day, as it highlights the urgent need to restore ecosystems and fight climate change. Every tree planted represents an act of generosity toward future generations, promoting a healthier, more balanced environment. This celebration is a call to everyone: plant a tree, do good, and protect our planet. Together, we can secure a sustainable future for all.
