Outubro Rosa – 2023

Outubro Rosa – 2023

October 19 marks World Breast Cancer Awareness Day, and Itaminas reinforced the importance of Outubro Rosa (Pink October, breast-cancer awareness campaign).
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that women without symptoms or signs of disease, aged between 50 and 69, get a mammogram every two years.
To highlight the importance of this day, Itaminas’ cafeterias were decorated, and every woman received roses and informational pamphlets about the importance of mammograms and breast cancer prevention care.

At Instituto Itaviva’s Outubro Rosa event, we were honored to have an inspiring talk by Priscila Silva Campos, a renowned motivational speaker and author. In her moving account, Priscila shared her story of overcoming adversity, motivating everyone in attendance.

Nurse Ana Paula Silva also played an essential role, highlighting the importance of mammograms and transvaginal exams in preventing breast and cervical cancer, offering valuable information for women’s health.

In addition, 19 copies of the book “Na Sala de Espera” (“In the Waiting Room”), by Priscila Silva Campos, were raffled off to participants of the Vida Ativa and Mulheres em Movimento projects. This initiative helped spread knowledge and inspiration.

To close out the evening memorably, a dinner was offered to those in attendance, providing a moment of fellowship and celebration, wrapping up Instituto Itaviva’s Outubro Rosa event in the best possible way.
